CassxJosie commission for the wonderfulmadamebadger! Admittedly I haven’t drawn any Pentilyet since that huge outpouring of shippy art from December, but man did we jumpstart something awesome.
Anyway, thank you so much for the privilege of working on this! I enjoyed drawing them again, and I hope you’re just as pleased with the result as I am :)!
As a present to myself for hitting a milestone, I commissioned a Cassandra and Josephine dancing pic from pugletto. Pugletto’s art is what got me started thinking about Cassandra and Josephine as a pairing waaaaaaayyyyyy back in December, and…. we all know how that worked out for me. :D So this feels kind of pleasantly full-circle.
LOOK, isn’t it gorgeous? The colors and the lighting are so lovely, the pose is perfection, and their expressions just capture them so well. I keep looking back at this pic and flailing and looking again and flailing more and now the high res version of it is my laptop wallpaper so I can admire all the details, like the flowers in Cassandra’s hair and the tendrils of Josephine’s hair and the subtle patterns of the fabric and the gorgeous lighting, and, well, I’m flailing again.
*flails*
Thank you SO MUCH to Pug, who is both extremely talented and a pleasure to work with; this was worth every penny, and now I’m going to sit here and chinhands at this picture for a while more.
Modern stylised Josephine and some of the fashion references I pulled for her. I noticed that they gave her quite corally lips in her model and there were notes of yellow and orange highlights around her eyes which I found very pretty!
The rest is a combination of Puffy sleeves + bling + shoulder pads + high waistness.
I was a little disappointed that in Wicked Eyes, Wicked Hearts, everyone showed up wearing the same Prince Charming uniform. The ladies should have been wearing big obnoxious Orlesian dresses to the ball! So I decided to design their gowns myself.
